Couple of hours ago received an email from Delta offering discounts for award redemptions booked using SkyMiles on Delta metal. For economy redemptions the discount maxes at 15% while for business/first class tickets at 25%. For first redemption the discount is 5% less.
The thing to note here is the fact that the discount applies only for Delta and Delta Connection flights. It doesn’t apply for partner redemptions. The booking window is until the end of this month, and the travel must be completed by April 30th, 2012.
The email received indicates that this would be a targeted promotion. You can always give a call to Delta and reference promotion 97060524 (Promotional Reference Code: 97060524). Maybe you were targeted but you didn’t receive the email? Not sure if the agents can sign you up if you weren’t targeted.
Terms & Conditions
Applicable Routes: All roundtrip routes served by either Delta- or Delta Connection-marketed and -operated flights. Codeshare flights operated by carriers other than the Delta Connection carriers are not eligible for this offer.
Award Tickets: Award Tickets must be booked and redeemed between October 18 and October 31, 2011.
Travel Period: Award Travel must be completed between October 18, 2011 and April 30, 2012.
Blackout Dates: Subject to Award Ticket availability.
Award Validity: Seats for the discounted Award redemption levels are limited and may not be available on all flights. Award redemption levels are valid on Delta and Delta Connection carrier flights only.
