Expedia.ca And MasterCard “Vegas Baby Sale” Promotion – Earn Up To $200 CDN Back In Prepaid MasterCards

MasterCard and Expedia.ca have teamed up again and are offering a very interesting promotion. When you book a trip to Las Vegas, or few other gaming destinations, you are eligible for up to $200 CDN back in prepaid MasterCard.

You do not need to live in Canada or use a MasterCard issued in Canada, but you do need to have an address in Canada where the prepaid MasterCard can be delivered. This address can be different than the credit card billing address used to pay for the purchase.Expedia.ca advertises this as “Vegas Baby Sale”. Apparently the selected hotels in the Atlantic City, Biloxi, Lake Tahoe, Reno, Las Vegas, Laughlin, and Shreveport all qualify for this promotion. You can confirm this during the booking process, where promotional message to this prepaid MasterCard shows up.

There are two ways to participate. Book a hotel only but then there is a minimum CDN requirement in addition to the number of days to qualify for the MasterCard.

Book 3 nights to receive a $25 prepaid MasterCard card

Book 4 nights to receive a $50 prepaid MasterCard card

Book 5 nights to receive a $100 prepaid MasterCard card

Book 6 nights or more to receive a $200 prepaid MasterCard card

Alternatively you can book a flight and a hotel package together. Then there is no dollar requirement but number of nights still apply. The departure point doesn’t need to be in Canada. Selected US airport, if not all, apply. I tried booking a trip from San Francisco to Nevada and the prepaid MasterCard offer showed up.

  • 3 nights = C$25 card
  • 4 nights = C$50 card
  • 5 nights = C$100 card
  • 6+ nights = C$200 card

For hotel only bookings, a minimum spend is required to qualify for the prepaid card:

  • C$50 booking for the 3 nights/C$25 card
  • C$100 booking for a the 4 nights/C$50 card
  • C$200 booking for a the 5 nights/C$100 card
  • C$300 booking for a the 6+ nights/C$200 card

The prepaid card is only applicable for stays booked at participating Vegas, Baby properties.

In order to receive the prepaid card, customers must use a MasterCard to book.

Customers must also opt-in to receive the prepaid card during the booking path after the booking is confirmed. During the opt-in process, they must provide a Canadian shipping address for the card as this is a Canada-only offer. Prepaid cards will be distributed to the address stated in the opt-in screen upon the completion of their stay.

Customers will receive one prepaid card per transaction only.

There is no need to activate your card; you can begin making purchases immediately. This card can be used anywhere MasterCard cards are accepted. Your prepaid card does not have a CHIP, so no PIN is required. Prepaid cards may not be used for cash withdrawals or at any cash dispensing locations. You do not have to use the entire card balance in one transaction. To make a purchase in excess of your available funds, ensure your card is processed for a specific amount and pay the remaining account with a separate form of payment.

For e-commerce purchases, when asked for the billing address, use the address the card was shipped to.

Be sure to use up the balance before the expiration date, which is three years from receipt of the card. After the first six months, $2.50 will be deducted from your card per month – so get spending!
