Hyatt apparently loves these short term sales every couple of months. This time they are offering up to 30% off of 108 properties in United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. These are prepaid, non-refundable, and non-cancelable. Diamond members can use their suite upgrades on these rates, subject to availability of course. These rates need to be booked by midnight on 21st of December.
The following Hyatt web page has the list of all the 108 participating properties and the terms of this offer.
Sometimes these rates “work” and sometimes they don’t. You get a lower price but you give up the flexibility. I would only book the sale rate if my plans were absolutely set in stone.
This offer returns a very good deal at the Hyatt Huntington Beach Resort in Huntington Beach, CA. This is a quite lovely resort where I have stayed a handful of times. The Regency Club, which Diamond members have access to, is one of the better ones in the US. There is a bridge over the Pacific Coast Hwy for direct access from the property to the beach.

The 48 Hour Sale Garden King $115.50 vs. Daily Rate Garden King $165 vs. AAA Breakfast Rate Garden King $145 vs. Senior Citizen Rate $156.
For Diamond members the best rate to book would be the 48 hour sale rate. The AAA rate, however, includes a full breakfast for two. That would be my choice for a non-status member, as the breakfast at this property for two most certainly costs more than $30.
