Marriott’s Customer Service Email Turnaround Time for Taste of Platinum & Promotion Sign up Requests

Last year, I fell short on my Marriott stays to qualify for a Platinum status. Starwood had their excellent summer promotion and, as a result, I spent most of my summer and fall months at their properties. Marriott offered the Buy Back Elite status, but I decided not to take part of that offer.

Marriott’s summer 2012 promotion just started on June 1st. There are quite a few different options from free night certificates to bonus points. Not sure why, but I wasn’t targeted to ANY of the promotions. My preference would have been the three free night certificates after six stays. I wrote a piece about changing the targeted Marriott promotions by contacting them by phone, email, or via FlyerTalk.


On June 4th I sent a very brief email to Marriott to sign me up for the Taste of Platinum-challenge and for the free night certificate version of the summer promotion.


It took Marriott less than 48 hours to get back to me, and sign me up for the Taste of Platinum and for the summer Marriott promotion that I preferred. As a result, I will have a night at a Marriott property here in Bangkok later tonight.
