Thai Airways has long offered passengers departing from Bangkok the ability to preorder their preferred meal in advance. These are not special meals like Kosher or Halal that you can specify during the ticket buying process, but rather greater variety of western and Asian options.
The process is rather easy, if the Thai’s website is cooperating. You need to pull up your reservation using the PNR and your last name.
You then get a screen showing your flight information and the button that you need to click to move forward.
You will see thirteen different options that you can choose from. If you click the VIEW, you will be then shown a presentation of the dish.
Although my flight was rather an early morning flight, I decided to choose the steak. What could go wrong with the steak for breakfast?
The online system confirms your order, but warns that there could chance for the selection not to be available in case of irregular operations.
To my surprise the steak looked almost identical on the plane as on the presentation photo on Thai’s website. Also, the steak was cooked medium rare that I prefer. This was probably due to very short flight from Bangkok to Yangon.
