Marriott Renewing Gold/Platinum Status Without Meeting Qualification Requirements

Marriott has always renewed the Gold or Platinum status if you have stayed at Marriott properties a lot in the past and just have been in short on nights one year.

I used to stay at Marriott hotels a lot and had couple of years with around 130 nights. My total lifetime nights are just above 500 at the present. For the most part, I stopped at staying at Marriott hotels few years ago and Marriott continued renewing my Platinum status for couple of years and then finally downgraded me Gold last year.

In 2012, I had only 16 Marriott stays and Marriott has just renewed my Gold status for 2013.

At how many nights did Marriott renew your Gold/Platinum status if you were short on required nights? Leave your comments below.

As I have written on the Marriott lifetime piece, I only need some points to qualify for the Marriott lifetime Gold status as I have already had the number of required nights.

I am planning to do the Taste of Platinum later this spring after it qualifies me all the way to 2015. In the last couple of years, I have only had the number of stays at Marriott properties to max out the free night certificate promos.
