Update on Club Carlson Targeted Reactivation Bonus

At the beginning of January, I wrote about 10K bonus Club Carlson bonus points offer that they had emailed to a friend of mine. Yesterday, I received the same offer as well.

The last stay that I had at Club Carlson property was on September 19, 2012. Seems that they sent out these offers to those that don’t have too many points in their account (I just moved mine to United) and haven’t had a stay for a short while.

OMNI Select Guest Program Changes

It is always “scary” when hotel or airline programs send emails about program updates and changes as those rarely benefit the program member.

This is the case with the OMNI Select Guest program as well. They just sent an email regarding program changes. Of course, they forgot to mention what the previous requirements for a free night or the validity of the free night had been.

Bangkok Airways FlyerBonus Birthday Bonus of 45 Points

Bangkok Airways has a new bonus offer in 2013 to celebrate the airlines 45th anniversary. You will not only get double points for all the flights taken in your birth month but also 45 bonus points for a flight taken in your birthday! You can read more about this offer here.

I have written about Bangkok Airways previously. If you travel around Thailand and especially to/from Koh Samui (they happen to own the airport there), it is very difficult to avoid Bangkok Airways. They also have a half price award sale once or twice a year that is good deal for domestic flights (no fuel surcharges).

Up To 7500 Club Carlson Points for Budget Rentals Of 3 Days Or Longer

Budget also has an offer for 6750 bonus Club Carlson points for rentals of 3 days or longer for rentals starting by December 31, 2013. Avis has a similar offer. You can access Budget’s offer here. The number of base points that you earn per rental is 750.

Budget offer is valid for rentals at participating locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. Unfortunately, there is no way of getting a list of locations that do not participate.

Chris Elliott on “Stealing From An Airline” – Too Low Fares?

Just came across Mr. Elliott’s latest essee about airline issues. Friend of mine had commented about this latest Huffington Post piece and posted a link to it on his Facebook. I have been contemplating about writing some of Mr. Elliott’s previous pieces because he often takes a contrarian view.

This time, however, I couldn’t disagree with him more. You can read his article on Huffington Post here.
