The registration for linking your SPG and Delta SkyMiles accounts to benefit of the Crossover Rewards is now open at either SPG’s website here or Delta’s website here. You only have to link your accounts once. If you have Delta flights coming in on early March or SPG stays, you should register now to start earning extra SkyMiles and Starpoints.
When I tried to link my accounts on SPG’s website, I got the following error message quite a few times.
Finally, on my fifth or sixth try, the registration went through. Almost immediately, I received an email from Delta, although I had registered on SPG’s side, that the accounts were now linked.
To ensure that the accounts were really linked (trust, but always verify), I tried linking accounts then on Delta’s website. After logging to my SkyMiles account, it showed a message that the SPG and Delta accounts were indeed linked.
Here’s brief reminder of the Delta & SPG Crossover Rewards benefits:
If you already have any status with Delta and SPG, the only benefit is earning some SkyMiles for the room rate that you pay for on your SPG stays and earning Starpoints for your Delta flights.
I just linked my Starwood and Delta accounts to get some extra SkyMiles & Starpoints out of this partnership. That’s the only benefit for me really. But, hey, I never mind getting some Starpoints or SkyMiles.
