Aeroplan is bringing back the Star Challenge for the second time. This year the qualification period is from March 11 to April 10, 2013. The registration is already open. You can access Aeroplan’s web page for this promotion here.
Last year, there were few easy ways to maximize the payout with very little work. This year, however, the terms and conditions have been updated to make getting the maximum payout of this promotion more difficult.
You can earn 2000 bonus miles for 50 starts and 20000 bonus miles for 100 starts.
There are some bonuses if you have any of the following two Aeroplan branded credit cards.
The easiest way to rack up stars is to fly Air Canada. You will earn 5 stars for every flight segment during the promotional period. Note that this only applies to flights that are booked and flown during the promotional period. You will also earn 3 stars for every Star Alliance memer airline that you fly and credit to Aeroplan during the promotional period.
You will also earn 5 stars per hotel star that you credit to Aeroplan during the promotional period, 3 stars for Hertz and Avis car rentals, and 3 stars for parking transactions.
You can earn 2 stars per day per shopping partner (minimum $10 purchase). Converting points from partner programs only earns you maximum of 9 stars this year.
Getting 9 stars from these social activities is quite easy.
Aeroplan hasn’t made it easy to max out this promo second time around. The fastest way to collect these stars is to credit Air Canada segments, but they need to be booked and flown during the promotional period.
Here are the terms and conditions of this Aeroplan offer:
Normally I would have the terms and conditions here, but this time they are like 30 pages long. I will just provide a download links for the PDF files.
