The A-List is an entry level status with Southwest, but can come handy. I have usually flown Southwest few few times a year, when there haven’t been better options, and having status enables you to get a better seating with them and some extra Rapid Rewards points.

If you have a friend living in Colorado, you could always move your Southwest account there until they have matched your status.
