Now, that Hilton has introduced the new categories and seasonal award pricing, I thought that it would be right time to revisit this award type. Hilton Points & Money awards allow you to pay your award stay partially using points and cash.
Hilton HHonors hasn’t released a category dependent Points & Money schedule. They did this when the program was first launched, but later removed it from the website. The Points & Money requirements were no longer entirely hotel category dependent.
The point portion of the Points & Money awards is exactly 40% of pure point redemption and there is a sliding scale for the cash part. The cash amount was consistent and didn’t vary between properties at the same point redemption level. There could be differences, however.
DoubleTree Beijing – 5000 points OR 2000 points + $30
Ramses Hilton -10000 points OR 4000 points and $35
Hilton Cairo WTC – 20000 points OR 8000 points + $40
Millennium Hilton Bangkok – 30000 points OR 12000 points + $50
Conrad Bangkok – 40000 points OR 16000 points + $67
Conrad Bali – 50000 points OR 20000 points + $85
Hilton Beijing Wangfujing – 60000 points OR 24000 points + $100
Hilton Maldives – 70000 points OR 28000 points + $125
Conrad Tokyo – 80000 points OR 32000 points + $142
Conrad Maldives – 95000 points OR 38000 points + $200
Just an interesting observation that none of the properties in New York were offering Points & Money awards for the dates I was looking at. Hilton doesn’t require properties to participate to this award option.
This Points & Money option can be quite attractive at lower category properties that has this award type available.
