US Airways is again offering 50% bonus on hotel points conversions to Dividend Miles between April 1 to 30th, 2013. Note that converting of SPG Starpoints to Dividend Miles is excluded from this offer unlike in 2012. You can access US Airways page for this offer here.
The hotel conversion partners are:
Transferring Priority Club points could make sense as converting Club Carlson Goldpoints. 100K Club Carlson points would convert first to 18K miles that with the 50% bonus would become 27K miles. 100K Priority Club points would convert to 30K miles with the conversion bonus.
Last year when the SPG was part of the conversion bonus, I made the maximum transfer of 60K SPG to 75 K US (SPG gives 5K bonus per 20K transfer) that with the 50% bonus came to 112500 US Airways Dividend Miles.
This year, however, I am going to pass this offer. If you are thinking of redeeming a Marriott Travel Package and have US Airways as the partner airline, this would be a good offer. There are no restrictions that issuing a travel package would be ineligible for this bonus.
Had the SPG been partner this year, I would have certainly participated. The Marriott Travel Package with US Airways Dividend Miles component would be a good deal, however.
Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:
Eligibility: Offer void where prohibited by law. No registration required. Only miles converted with an activity date between April 1, 2013 and April 30, 2013 will earn a bonus. Earning bonus miles: Bonus miles are in addition to Dividend Miles awarded by hotel partners for points conversions. Only hotel points that are converted into Dividend Miles April 1 – 30, 2013 are eligible (‘eligible activity date’). Hotel bonus miles do not count toward Preferred status. Bonus miles will post 6 – 8 weeks from date of transaction. Dividend Miles members will earn only one bonus when they transfer hotel points into Dividend Miles during the promotion. Dividend Miles members will earn a 50% bonus.
Eligible activity date: Eligible activity date is based on the date the qualifying partner records the mileage transaction, and not necessarily the date on which the transaction occurred. US Airways assumes no responsibility for how qualifying partners record activity dates. Check with the applicable partner to confirm policies and procedures for recording activity dates. The last date that activity from a qualifying partner can be received by US Airways for bonus miles consideration is April 10, 2013, regardless of the eligible activity date for such activity.
