Former Ista Hotels In India Now Bookable Under Hyatt Brand

Hyatt and Ista hotels made an announcement (read more of it here) back in November (2012) that five Ista hotels would be rebranded under the Hyatt brand by March, 2013. As is often the case, this process took longer, but the hotels have been bookable on Hyatt.com starting April 1.

Four of the five hotels have been assigned Gold Passport award category 2 and the property in Bangalore is category 3:

Hyatt Amritsar – Category 2 = 8000 points pr night

Hyatt Pune – Category 2 = 8000 points pr night

Hyatt Hyderabad – Category 2 = 8000 points pr night

Hyatt Ahmedabad – Category 2 = 8000 points pr night

Hyatt Bangalore MG Road – Category 3 = 12000 points pr night

It is surprising that they didn’t assign Gold Passport category 1 to most of these hotels, as they are definitely not that pricey.

Conclusion

Good to see that Hyatt is getting more hotels under they umbrella internationally. Currently more than 80% (around 400) of the Hyatt properties are still in North America and international footprint is rather miniscule (around 100 properties).
