Most Rewarding Loyalty Program Series: Hyatt Gold Passport – Burning Points

Now that we have established the number of points that you earn on average based on the spend (see my previous article here) at Hyatt family of hotels hotels, it is time to have a look at the number of points that is required to get a free night/number of points earned per dollar.

Spend Requirement For A Free Night

Here I took an average number of points required for a free night at number of metropolitan cities around the world and divided that by number of points earned per dollar at Platinum and Diamond levels both with and without the Hyatt’s Chase affiliated Visa credit card.

Hyatt won’t give a discount for staying multiple nights unlike other hotel rewards programs. The number of properties that Hyatt has compared to main competitors is rather low.

You can read about using points with Club Carlson (here) and Hilton HHonors (here). I have made similar analysis of both of these two programs.

We are not about half way through this series. Still coming are IHG (both Priority Club Gold & Platinum vs. Ambassador & Royal Ambassador), Marriott and Starwood.
