Hilton Loses Hilton Maldives Iru Fushi Resort & Spa – No Longer Hilton Property

Hilton Maldives Iru Fushi Resort has ended its affiliation with Hilton and all Hilton management personnel have left the property.

The hotel has taken back its previous name Iru Fushi Beach Resort & Spa. The hotel joined the Hilton family of hotel on July 2009.

The hotel still has its Hilton web page up, but shows up sold out for any foreseeable date.

The guests that are currently staying on the island will receive their Hilton HHonors benefits and future reservations including award ones will be honored.

You will not, however, receive points for the the room rate or for the substantial incidentals that you will incur during your stay. Your stay won’t be eligible for Hilton stay or night credit.

If you have a reservation coming up at this property and wishes to receive Hilton HHonors related benefits, you should call to Hilton immediately and ask them to move your reservation to Conrad instead.

I phoned up the hotel and confirmed this switch. They do not have their new web page up at the moment.

It is not unusual for hotels to drop their affiliation without ay prior notice. This is very inconvenient for those that have booked their trip and expect to receive the Hilton status related benefits and the points for the room rate + incidentals.

You should try to work with the Hilton and make every effort to have the stay moved to the Conrad. This may or may not be possible.

I have stayed at the Conrad, when it was branded as Hilton, but never stayed at this Iru Fushi property.
