EVA Air’s Frequent Flier Program Name Changing To Infinity MileageLands


In anticipation to EVA Air’s joining the Star Alliance on 18th of this month, Star Alliance briefly posted the information about mapping the EVA’s membership levels to alliance wide Star Alliance Silver and Gold status.


EVA Air’s frequent flier program has been called the Evergreen Club, but now they have come up with this new name that is frankly put somewhat challenging.

Bloomberg BusinessWeek Article On Airline Ancillary Revenue

Five years ago the ancillary fees that the airlines collected were just $2.5 billion and this grew to $36 billion in 2012. At the end of 2013, these fees are expected to represent 5% of all revenue collected by the airlines.

Delta SkyMiles Partner Airline Mileage Earning Changes


Delta Airlines sent out an email yesterday to SkyMiles members alerting them about the changes that are coming to earning MQM’s (Medallion Qualifying Miles) and award miles starting on September 1, 2013. You can access Delta’s dedicated web page for this change here.


The header of the email should have alerted about the most major change that is the non-earning of MQM’s on any flight operated by Korean Air (that is not marketed by Delta) and reduced earning of award miles as well.

Hyatt Gold Passport & MGM Mlife Loyalty Program Partnership


Hyatt and MGM Resort International announced today a loyalty program partnership starting on June 20, 2013, that allows Hyatt Gold Passport members earn points and stay credits when staying at twelve MGM properties in Las Vegas and MGM’s Mlife members to earn tier credits when staying at all Hyatt properties worldwide. MGM Grand Detroit, Beau Rivage and Gold Strike Tunica will later join the program.


Hyatt Gold Passport members are eligible to receive reciprocal tier status with MGM’s Mlife program and MGM Mlife members will receive tier match with Hyatt’s program. This will start sometime in August.
