United Airlines Mileage Plus Buy Miles Offer: 30% Discount Until July 22

United Airlines has a new Mileage Plus Buy Miles-offer for 30% discount off of the mileage purchases greater than 12,000 miles. Note that this offer is targeted and there is no public link that I can provide. There could be other targeted offers out as well.

You can buy or gifted maximum of 100,000 miles per calendar year.

United has run number of buy miles-campaigns throughout the year and I wouldn’t bite at just 30% discount.

The price of a mile purchased under this offer is 2.63 cents each, when done in larger quantities.United has been selling unlimited award miles for 2.1 cents by taking advantage of the Award/Premier Accelerator that I have previously written about.

If you are not sure if buying miles makes sense for you, there is a piece that I wrote about this subject “When Does It Makes Sense To Buy Airline Miles”.

I value United miles higher than US Airways or American Airlines ones. This is mainly due to numerous connection options, flexible routings, number of Star Alliance carriers and stopovers.

You can have a double open jaw + stopover in return itineraries. I am also a huge fan of being able to book most of the award itineraries online at United.com without having to call reservations.

Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:

  • Minimum purchase of 4,000 miles required for this promotional pricing.
