When I was doing a survey earlier today about my stay at the Vilnius Crowne Plaza, I was presented with the question below:
This would indicate that IHG Rewards Club Platinum member should have been offered 500 bonus points OR drink & snack voucher. I was offered neither of these two options.
Let’s look at the competition:
– Hilton HHonors offers 1000 bonus points for their Diamond members at full service properties
– Hyatt Gold Passports offers 1000 bonus points or food & beverage amenity for their Diamond members at full service properties
– Marriott Rewards offers 500 bonus points or food & beverage amenity for their Platinum members at full service properties
– SPG offers 500 points or food & beverage amenity for their Platinum members at full service properties
Both Hilton and Marriott offer breakfast starting at their Gold level and Hyatt starting with the Diamond. Starwood makes you to choose the breakfast as an amenity choice at some properties.
It wouldn’t surprise me at all, if this is becoming a brand standard at least for the Crowne Plaza hotels considering the competitive pressure from Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott & Starwood.
