SPG has just launched a promotion for getting dormant accounts reactivated and is offering category 1 to 5 free night award after just one stay between August 1 and October 31, 2013. The free night award is valid until December 31, 2013. There is also an offer for instant Gold status that is valid until February 2015.

There seems to be offers from all the hotel chains to get members that haven’t stayed for a while to get back in. I was targeted for the recent Hyatt offer but was not eligible for this SPG free night award, although, the number of my SPG stays/nights is way down this year.

This promotion is available to selected active members of the SPG program. Selected members must register before September 30, 2013, (the “registration period”) and complete one (1) eligible stay between August 1, 2013, and October 31, 2013, (the “promotion period”) to be eligible for the Award. The Award earned is one (1) Free Night Award to be redeemed for a standard room at any Category 1–5 Starwood hotel or resort. The Free Night Award must be redeemed by December 31, 2013. A maximum of one (1) Free Night Award can be earned as part of this promotion. SPG non-participating properties can be found at spg.com under program terms and conditions, section 1.2. Free Night Award can be redeemed by calling your local SPG Customer Contact Center and mentioning Award ID 3LCFN. Free Night Award is not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Unused Awards are forfeited.
The above-listed offer is non-transferable and void for Starwood employees. An eligible stay is defined as one or more consecutive nights paying a qualifying rate in the same hotel, regardless of the number of check-ins or checkouts that occur, and posting to the member’s Starwood Preferred Guest® account. Eligible stays will be tracked by the date the member checks in and not the date the member checks out.
