Marriott Platinum members are eligible for the Platinum arrival gift that used to be either food and beverage amenity of 500 points. This changed this summer for F&B credit or points (read more here).
The Platinum arrival gift is covered under Marriott’s elite guarantees ( read more about Marriott guarantees here). Platinum members are eligible for $100 in cash in case of non delivery. I wrote about recently how I collected $100 for non-delivery (read more here).
LoyaltyLobby reader emailed me about Platinum amenity points that the property (Baltimore Marriott Waterfront) had failed to post to his account.
He had queried this through Marriott and the property had decided to post 10,000 points to his accounts instead:
I would like to begin by saying thank you for staying at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront for your recent trip to the city. I am so sorry you had an issue with your arrival and Platinum bonus. I have contact Marriott Rewards and they have assured me that the points that were earned have been credited, as well as the bonus points. I would be happy to add 10,000 points as well do to the delay.
This is a very nice outcome, as the property is not required to post more than the 500 points even when they have missed to post the points. The hotel must have felt very generous on that date.
