Le Club Accorhotels has decided that it is time to bring their program more inline with benefits offered by programs such as Hilton HHonors, Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest.
You can access Accor’s Le Club Accorhotels website for status benefits here.
Le Club Accorhotels Elite Benefit Changes:
All elite members from Silver to Platinum are now eligible for complimentary internet access at all Accor hotels. Previously internet was not free based on the status.
A late check out is now benefit for Silver members as well. Gold members can choose between early check in or late check out. Platinum member are eligible for both. Early check in and late check out are based on availability.
A welcome drink is now benefit at all levels and all brands. Silver members are not eligible at ibis and ibis Styles hotels.
Guaranteed room availability is now available for Platinum members up to 2 days before and Gold members up to 3 days before. Previously this benefit required 5 day advance notice.
Gold and Platinum members are eligible for room upgrades that are based on availability.
The best benefit is the lounge access for Platinum members at properties that have one.
Brand Specific Elite Benefits
Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, Novotel, Suite Novotel, Mercure and Adagio are all offering also brand specific benefits for Le Club Accorhotels members.
Point Earning Per Brand & Status Level
The number of points that you earn is dependent of the Accor brand and your status level. As you exchange points for money off vouchers, you can calculate the “cashback” percentage rate for each brand and status level, as I have done below.
Note that you do not earn ANY points for stays at ibis and ibis Styles for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights IN FRANCE. You only earn points for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
There are some properties that don’t participate to Le Club Accorhotels program at all and you can find them above.
Here’s the old benefit chart for comparison purposes:
I am glad that Accor has decided to make their program more competitive by offering a stronger elite benefits package. It is interesting to see how well properties end up executing them.
They should have offered a guaranteed breakfast for their Platinum members like Hilton (Diamond), Hyatt (Diamond), Marriott (Gold & Platinum) and Starwood (Platinum) all do.
Personally, I have been bit hesitant to stay at Accor properties due to lack of confirmed elite amenities such as lounge access. This change in benefits will definitely help me to have them on the consideration list.
