Cathay Pacific’s AsiaMiles members have only been able to book Cathay’s and Dragon Air’s award space. Now, awards on British Airways and Qantas are available also.
Last time, when I was using AsiaMiles to book a partner award ticket, it was very painful process. The phone lines for AsiaMiles were busy 99% of the time. Not sure if there has been any positive development as of late on this issue.
Having more partner awards bookable online would lower the number of phone agents required for booking simple awards that could be done online by members by themselves. Surely, the member would do this by themselves as well?
It is weird that it is taking so ling time for many airlines to implement a proper online interface for booking awards. Cynical me thinks that this is just one more hurdle that makes miles more difficult to use and likelier to expire as unused.
