LoyaltyLobby reader sent me a link to Marriott’s Crisis Management Guide from 2001 that is available for download on Wikileaks website here.
This guide is an interesting read to what properties and their personnel are supposed to do in man made disasters (bombs etc.) and natural ones (hurricanes etc.).
Although this document is 12 years old, I doubt that there has been that much changes beyond the “code” words. All the other hotel chains likely have similar guides for their properties/management employees.
Haven’t we heard these same words many times?
There is an interesting part about bomb threats that shouldn’t come as a surprise.
There is an interesting set of code words that the employees are supposed to use in case of discussing evacuations etc.
