Huge Orders From Emirates, Qatar & Etihad At The Dubai Airshow

Couple of days ago, I wrote about the Boeing’s plan of launching the new 777X at the Dubai Airshow (read more here) and so they did. You can read more about the purchases made on BBC’s website here.

Boeing sold 150 of these planes to Emirates that also ordered 50 more Airbus A380’s. Etihad, Qatar Airway and Lufthansa bought some of these 777X bringing the total sold at the show so far to more than 250.

It is truly astonishing how fast the gulf carriers are growing, although some of the purchased planes will be used to replace their older aircraft.

These gulf airlines are truly changing the aviation landscape and the European legacies better watch out or they will soon be left behind.
