Hyatt Gold Passport has decided to extend their promotion for buying points that was supposed to expired on November 29 to December 15, 2013. You can get up to 30% bonus on purchased points for buying exactly 40,000 points.
The price of a point purchased at the 30% bonus level is 1.85 cents each. You can access this offer here.
Does it make sense to purchase Hyatt points?
You can only do better by purchasing points and using them instead of cash in rare instances.
It would require the hotel category to be relatively low compared to cash prices OR a very high end property such as Park Hyatt’s in Paris,
Milan and Sydney.
You can save a lot at some properties such as Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo by buying the points and using them instead of paying the going cash rate (8000 points instead of paying $500). You can read more about this here.
You should only buy these points if you have specific use in mind. This is the usual price of a Hyatt point during their sales.
If you purchase the points using the link fund here, you will support LoyaltyLobby at the same time.
