Complimentary Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond Status For (Some?) Mlife NOIR Members

Hyatt Gold Passport and MGM Mlife launched a program partnership back in June (read more here) that came with limited tier matching from Hyatt Gold Passport to Mlife and vice versa.

Hyatt & MGM had a launch party in Vegas in July (read more here), where participating Hyatt members received an instant NOIR status in Mlife.

You can read more about the Hyatt Gold Passport and Mlife partnership and link your accounts for matching status here.

Now, MGM Mlife has extended an invitation for (some?) NOIR members to have instant Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond status. NOIR members are only eligible for Platinum status per the published tier matching table.

This was first discussed on FlyerTalk (read more here) and a member forwarded me the email invitation from Mlife for complimentary Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond status.

It is unclear for how long the complimentary Hyatt Diamond status will be valid. I would imagine it to be for the duration of the Mlife NOIR status.

The Hyatt & MGM partnership has been very beneficial for Gold Passport members that need to rack up inexpensive stays for status qualification and who visit Las Vegas often. It is difficult to find cheaper properties for status qualification than MGM properties midweek & off-season.

Has the program been successful for Mlife members as well? Have they applied for the complimentary Hyatt Gold Passport status and do they stay at Hyatt properties?

It seems, at least for me, that program uptake for Mlife members may not have been that successful, if they now need to throw in a Diamond status to get NOIR members to sign up. I do believe, however, that mapping Mlife NOIR to Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond is more appropriate than to Platinum.
