American Airlines is offering 50% award miles bonus for US Airways flights credited to AAdvantage and US Airways is offering 50% bonus for American Airlines flights credited to Dividend Miles.
Both offers are valid for travel between January 13 and March 2, 2014, and require registration.
Airlines now have codeshares loaded for travel starting on January 23, 2014. It means that you can buy AA codes flights that are operated by US Airways and vice versa.
It is good that both airlines are offering bonus miles for “partner” flights.
It is difficult, however, for US Airways elites t fly on American and for American elites to fly on US Airways until the upgrade situation is sorted out.
Here are the terms and conditions of the American Airlines offer:
AAdvantage 50% mileage bonus offer is valid for travel on US Airways, US Airways Express and US Airways Shuttle operated flights (includes codeshare flights marketed by American Airlines) for travel systemwide from January 13, 2014, through March 2, 2014. Offer applies to travel on purchased, published fare tickets that are eligible to earn AAdvantage miles. Registration prior to midnight CT on March 2, 2014 is required. Travel flown prior to registration will be eligible for the bonus. Bonus miles will be awarded within 3 4 weeks after the promotion period has ended.
