In 2013 IHG promised to make the internet free worldwide for all IHG Rewards Club member. Then 2014 came and the internet is free worldwide (except Europe).
I wrote about IHG’s promise backpedaling on December 31, 2013 (access the piece here).
How can you advertise that internet is free globally and then exclude the entire Europe? IHG now promises that the internet will be free in Europe sometime in 2014:
Hotels in Europe will be included later in 2014 at a date to be announced.
You can access IHG’s web page for these benefits here.
Why promise free internet starting on January 1, 2014, and then suddenly exclude the entire Europe? Why continue advertising free internet worldwide and then include asterisk that may not be available in all regions. This is simply misleading and false advertising.
