Wyndham Rewards Devalues Points To Miles Conversion By 50%

Wyndham Rewards has again changed the program without giving any prior notice to its program members. Last year, the program updated its reward chart, but refused to release a list of properties moving up/down in categories.

Now, Wyndham Rewards has upped the number of points required to airline miles by 100%.

You used to be able to redeem 2.5 points to an airline miles and this has now been enhanced to 5 points to an airline mile.

Wyndham Rewards doesn’t have the conversion table available on its website without logging in and having points sitting on one’s account.

This change was first noted on a FlyerTalk post (access here).

Conclusion

To be frank, I absolutely loathe programs that do changed like this without giving ANY prior notice to its program members. I would be very worried if I would have Wyndham Rewards points sitting on my account (I have previously converted them all to an airline miles).
