IHG Rewards Club Free Internet In Europe Confirmed From July 2014

IHG Rewards Club made an announcement in March 2013 (access here), that the internet would be free for all loyalty program members starting on January 1, 2014.

This was quietly changed late 2013/early 2014 that the internet would be free worldwide (except Europe). You can access my piece about this T&C’s change here.

Now, the IHG is promising on its emails to European based IHG Rewards Club members (thanks for French and German LoyaltyLobby readers forwarding me copies of the emails) starting in July 2014.

The link that IHG has on both German and French emails (access here) just resolves to the IHG’s benefits page that doesn’t have this information, however.

It was big announcement last year that the internet would be free for all loyalty program members on January 1st, 2014, onwards. Obviously, there were no announcements by IHG about the delay implementing this in Europe.

Let’s hope that there are no further delays and that the IHG hotels upgrade their internet connections to the brand standards. What is the free internet worth if it is totally unusable?
