Ethiopian Addis Abeba – Rome Flight Hijacked (Landed Geneva)


Airplane hijackings have become increasingly rare due to the heightened security at the airports. These used to be weekly affairs in the past.


Now, Ethiopian flight from Addis Abeba to Rome has been hijacked according by media reports and has safely landed in Geneva (Switzerland).

According to the latest report on CNN, the hijacker has been arrested and the passengers will be flown to their final destinations today.


Ethiopian Airlines is a third tier Star Alliance member. I took Ethiopian’s flight from Addis Abeba to Stockholm the other December and the service was via Rome. Ethiopian flies to Washington Dulles via Rome as well.
