American Airlines AAdvantage 25% Hotel Conversion Bonus (Select Programs)

American Airlines is offering 25% hotel points conversion bonus from select programs to AAdvantage miles. The promotion is valid for conversions initiated between February 19 and March 31, 2014.

There is no registration for this offer that is open for all. You can access AA’s web page for it here.

Note that the conversion bonus does not apply to conversions from the following programs: Starwood Preferred Guest, Hyatt Gold Passport, Melia Hotels, La Quinta Inns & Suites and Langham.

Also, AA has excluded Marriott travel packages from this conversion offer (would have been the best deal):

Conversions for hotel and air packages from eligible AAdvantage hotel participants are excluded from this offer.

Had the conversion bonus also applied for Marriott Travel Packages or had it not been explicitly excluded, I would have issued at least one package with 120K mile component before the 25% bonus.

I made majority of my two million lifetime elite qualifying miles from Marriott Travel Package conversions before the partnership with AA soured (was re-established again last year) and. At the time, AA was offering conversion bonus that included these now excluded Travel Packages.

If you have ANY use for the hotel points listed above, I would NOT convert them to American Airlines AAdvantage miles, as you would lose most of the value. The only conversion that I could consider doing is to convert some IHG Rewards Club points to AA miles.

Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:
