Club Carlson announced program “enhancements” on February 19 (read more here), 2014, including award category changes and the new category 7 properties requiring 70,000 points per night.
These new award categories were set to take place on March 15, 2014, but bookable using the old award categories until April 30, 2014.
You can access Club Carlson’s web page for these changes here.
This has now changed, however. Club Carlson has changed the wording on its web age for the award categories to tale place for bookings too on March 15, 2014.
Here’s the old text:
As of March 15, 2014, the hotels listed below will move to a new Hotel Category, resulting in an increase or decrease in the number of points required to redeem an award night. The new categories apply to bookings made on or after May 1, 2014.

+ the small text at the bottom of the web page:
*We mistakenly posted an incorrect date on the Club Carlson landing page regarding our program changes. The correct date is March 15, 2014. This was not an intended date change, but simply human error. We apologize for any confusion it may have caused.
Had it really hurt Club Carlson to keep the originally posted and promised May 1, 2014, date for bookings made using the new award chart to take effect? I really don’t like these sudden changes that both SPG and now Club Carlson have done this week.
Wouldn’t it be easier to have these correct before going live OR to honor the terms if someone messed up?
