American Airlines has been rolling out the new transcontinental service and is now offering up to 15,000 bonus miles for nonstop round-trip travel between New York (JFK) and San Francisco (SFO).
This offer is valid for travel between March 6 and May 31, 2014, and applies to all other paid fares except O and Q.

American Airlines currently has four daily flights (except 3 on Saturdays) between New York and San Francisco. Three of those four flights in April are operated by the new A321T aircraft.
Conclusion
This is a nice small bonus for direct flights between New York and San Francisco. The terms and conditions doesn’t exclude connecting traffic at the JFK or SFO ends. Only that the JFK-SFO has to be nonstop.
