American Airlines & JetBlue Partnership Ending April 1, 2014

American Airlines and JetBlue formed a partnership back in 2010. American Airlines was codesharing select JetBlue flights and vice versa. The airlines had limited frequent flier partnership as well.

American Airlines JetBlue Partnership Cancelled

Now, American Airlines has made an announcement that this partnership is ending effective April 1, 2014. The last day to earn miles for AA flights for B6 members and from B6 flights to AA members is March 31, 2014.

Conclusion

American Airlines must have come to conclusion that after the merger with US Airways went through there is no need for further feed for its international flights that JetBlue was providing beyond AA’s own domestic network.

It is surprising that the announcement was made less than three weeks prior the partnership ends. These are usually given several months in advance.
