United Airlines has now updated its status match program to include US Airways now that it is no longer a Star Alliance member.
United Airlines doesn’t do straight status matches, but upgrades your MileagePlus status to Silver, Gold or Platinum for 90 day period during which you need to fly certain number or PQM’s (Premier Qualifying miles) or PQS’ (Premier Qualifying Segments).
You can access this offer on United’s website here.
Note that United won’t entertain status matches if you have done previously with current United (former Continental Airlines) in the past five years.
Status Match Requirements
The flight or segment requirements have stayed the same.
The ideal time to do the match would be now, as the 90 day period would stretch over the July 1, 2014, that would stretch the newly acquired status validity all the way until January 31, 2016.
United just added the US Airways in addition to Delta on the chart that it has up on United.com. United does, however, matched other airlines too as long as they are not Star Alliance members.
Note that United has done some matched to 1K status for Delta Diamond members, but it is unclear if they still do. The flight requirement for the 1K match has been 35,000 PQM’s

A LoyaltyLobby reader did a match last week that was processed within 5 hours, although it says above that it can take 7 to 14 business days.
I would have expected United to offer status matches for US Airways elites without the requirement of flying certain number of miles/segments during the 90 day period.
You should take advantage of the match only if you know that you can actually fulfill the requirement, as you cannot do these back to back.
