Last year, SPG tweaked the award categories of quite a few hotels after announcing the big time Starpoints devaluation.
We monitor all the award changes and this week SPG changed the award categories of the following two hotels UP!
This hotel that is set to open very short went from category 2 to category 4 overnight. The hotel used to require 3,000 to 4,000 Starpoints per night, but now goes for 10,000 instead!
Sheraton At The Falls
Sheraton at the Falls used to be also category 2 property that moved to category 3 unannounced earlier this week.
It would be better if Starwood would announce any of these midyear category moves rather than blatantly changing the categories in the middle of the night hoping that nobody would notice.
