On March 20th, I wrote a piece about Spring 2014 Big Win promo tracking problems and was soliciting feedback from the readers (access the piece here).
Seem that the “Book With Us” goal is incorrectly programmed at the IHG’s end and will prevent completing the Big Win for many if not for everyone.
A family member of mine is faced with the same issue. None of the five stays that were all booked on IHG.com are tracking for the offer.
He went through four/five emails with the IHG Customer Care and they then decided to post the missing 2,900 points for the “Book With Us” as a “recovery”.
This won’t help a lot because the Big Win’s website still shows the hurdle uncompleted, which prevents the Big Win of 67,000 bonus points posting.
Here’s what you need to do:
1. You must open a point discrepancy issue with IHG and clearly communicate that the reservations that were booked on IHG’s websites are not tracking for the promo.
2. Communicate the dates when the bookings were made and the stays consumed. Otherwise, you will receive the standard reply of having to wait 4 to 6 weeks.
3. If they manually post the hurdle, they must manually post the Big Win points as well. The hurdle will not show as “completed” that will prevent the Big Win.
I have sent an email to my contact at the IHG regarding this promo tracking issue, but I have not received any feedback, whether they are fixing it or not.
You probably have to go through the route above if the “Book with us” is not tracking for you. It is disappointing that IHG came up with so complicated promo that their own program is not able to track it correctly.
