A LoyaltyLobby reader sent me a message today on Facebook asking for help about what would be adequate compensation for having a cockroach in a drink at the Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour’s Executive lounge.
Unfortunately, the reader had not noticed the cockroach before having a sip, but spat it out immediately.
You can access Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour’s website here.
The manager had only offered complimentary breakfast on all four night and double points. She had said that cockroaches are common in Australia and that the reader should just move on.
The hotel should have comped the nights or at least two nights. Having cockroaches in the executive lounge is completely unacceptable. Telling that the reader should just move on is just telling that they could care less.
What would you have asked? Do you accept cockroaches in drinks?
