Srilankan Airlines will become Oneworld Alliance member on May 1, 2014, and you can start earning and redeeming miles on their metal flights from that date.
Japan Airlines has now published on its website the earning chart for Mileage Bank members when flying on SriLankan Airlines flights and you can expect other Oneworld Alliance airlines follow shortly.
You can access JAL’s web page for this partnership here.
Here’s the earning table by fare class:
There are really no surprised. The lower economy fares only earn 30% of the miles flown and all business class fares seem to earn 125%.
I checked some SriLankan fares and seems that at least all the fares the airline had filed for LHR-CMB and CMB-SIN city pairs were eligible for mileage credit.
We should also soon learn about the award miles promotion that Oneworld alliance always has for a new members. Although the above fare class table is only for Japan Airlines frequent fliers, I would the breakdown to be fairly similar on other Oneworld Alliance member loyalty programs.
