Etihad Airways purchased a 24% slice of Jet Airways and is now part of Etihad’s equity partner airlines of Aer Lingus, airberlin, Air Serbia, Air Seychelles, Etihad Regional and Virgin Australia (read more of these partner airlines here).
Now both Etihad and Jet have emailed to their frequent fliers more information about this partnership between the two airlines that allows you to get elite benefits, both earn and burn miles on each others flights.

Remember that Etihad Guest charges those nasty fuel surcharges in addition to the actual taxes/fees on award flights. Redeeming using Etihad Guest miles on Jet Airways flight from Toronto to Brussels incurs a fuel surcharge of $408.
Things to note
You must make sure that the Jet Airways or JetKonnect flights that you take are operated by Jet/JetKonnect and marketed by Jet/JetKonnect or Etihad in order to get credit on Etihad Guest.
