Reader Question: Le Club Accorhotels Status Match?

A LoyaltyLobby reader sent me an email regarding getting a status match to Platinum based on the status one has with other chains.

Le Club Accorhotels Status Match

As many LoyaltyLobby readers must be aware of, Accor used to have never ending supply of sign up promotions that granted Platinum status but all those came to an end on November 2013.

Here’s the email from the reader:

I have been a long time reader of your blog and have gained so much knowledge from you so first of all I want to say thanks.  I wanted to ask you a quick question about Le Club Accor.  I will be spending 6 weeks in Australia for work and am interested in staying at a Le Club Accor property.  I know the platinum link is now gone but I was wondering if you know if they have a status match program.  I have IHG Platinum and Hyatt Platinum Status.  I apologize if this is answered somewhere else, I searched and was not able to find the answer or a contact address for Le Club Accor.

Unfortunately, I am not aware of that Accor would have done any status matches based on the status one might have with competing program. If you are going to stay at any specific property for a longer period of time, the hotel could perhaps arrange a status upgrade with the Le Club Accorhotels.

Although LoyaltyLobby doesn’t currently cover credit cards, I believe that Accor has arrangements in place on many markets for instant Platinum status for certain credit card holders.

Conclusion

It would make sense for Accor to offer status matches for elite members from competing programs. It is very difficult to start with a new program if you have got used to elite benefits offered such as upgrades and lounge access.

If anyone is aware of any current Le Club Accorhotels status fast tracks, please leave a comment below.
