There was plenty of drama surrounding the Etihad Guest Gold status match campaign that was launched in early February (access here).
The campaign was first open to all but Etihad quickly changed the requirement to only UAE residents (read more here). Then some readers were reporting that they had received email confirmations from Etihad about successful match (read more here) and some received denial emails as well (read more here).
Now, several LoyaltyLobby readers have contacted me that they had received a Gold package from Etihad out of the blue. They never received neither the confirmation nor the denial email from Etihad. The package just showed up.
Conclusion
If you applied to the Etihad match back in February, it could be worthwhile to log into the Etihad Guest to see what is your status today. Seems that Etihad may have had change of heart and processed more matches than they originally intended but were just taking their time.
