A LoyaltyLobby reader sent me an email with few IHG Rewards Club related questions earlier this week.
The main question was that he had paid for a rather large 10,000 points bonus points package that had posted to the account after his stay but as non-elite points qualifying and he wanted to know what to do.
The reader had included the relevant part of the IHG Rewards Club terms and conditions (access here) that I have covered earlier here on LoyaltyLobby as well.
There is absolutely no question, whether these should or shouldn’t post as elite qualifying. They most certainly are, but IHG’s IT doesn’t seem to be wise enough to categorize them correctly every time.
The reader must contact IHG Rewards Club and reference the relevant part of the T&C’s to have the customer care to adjust the account.
The best way to resolve an issue like this is to give IHG Rewards Club a call. You will get a reply to the email inquiry that you sent them, but it could take couple of email rounds before they have solved the posting issue.
I wish that the IHG Rewards Club software would be up to posting these correctly from the getco each and every time, but that is not currently the case,
