American Airlines has a new offer for buying AAdvantage miles. You can get up to 25% discount through August 31, 2014.
The number of bonus miles that you earn is dependent of the purchase amount. You should buy at least 65,000 miles to maximize the discount (25%) at the lowest per mile price.

The price of a mile purchased under this offer is 2.26 cents each when you purchase 80,000 that comes with the 25% discount.
Conclusion
American was selling AAdvantage miles at 2 cents each back in February. US Airways tend to sell their Dividend Miles cheaper without yearly purchase cap. US miles will eventually turn to AAdvantage miles sometime in the early 2015.
