Hyatt Gold Passport has a new campaign for buying up to 55,000 points and getting 40% bonus for purchases made until August 18, 2014.
Hyatt has upped the number of points that the member can purchase in a calendar year from 40,000 to 55,000.

Does it make sense to purchase points?
Only if you use them at very expensive Hyatt properties such as the Park Hyatt Maldives or Paris.
Award rooms with Hyatt are available as long as the standard rooms are available for sale. This means that points are usually good value if there is something going on in the city that brings the rates throughout the roof.
It is close to 10 months Hyatt had their Gold Passport sale last time. This offer may be targeted to Hyatt’s elite members. A LoyaltyLobby reader forwarded me the email that he had received as a Platinum member. The promotion, however, was active for my Diamond account as well.
