Marriott Rewards have implemented unannounced badges for your online rewards account that you can earn based on your hotel and other activity.
These badges are based on your members level, brands that you have stayed at, number of brands that you have stayed at, total number of nights that you have stayed at and your social activity.
You can access and opt-in for the badges here.
You can have one of the four badges, base level, Silver, Gold, or Platinum. There is no separate badge for Platinum Premier level members.
You can get 25 points and a brand badge for staying at each of the following brands twice.
Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, EDITION, Autograph Collection, Renaissance, AC Hotels, Marriott, Courtyard, Springhill Suites, Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn, TownePlace Suites, Gaylord Hotels, and Marriott Vacation Club.
Surprisingly, there is no badge for Marriott’s latest brands of Moxy or Protea.
You can get 3 different badges after visiting 5, 10, or all different Marriott brands. You can earn 50, 75, or 250 points for each.
You earn badge for 100, 500 or 1000 nights and 25, 125 or 250 points.
There are some badges here that you can earn as well.
People love badges, stickers and whatever. I think that this is a good initiative but the number of points awarded for these badges seems awfully low in the tune of 100th what I believe that their fair number of points would be (if not even more – 250 points for 1000 nights???).
