IHG has had rate promotion going on for IHG Rewards Club members residing in China since earlier this year (read more here) for 40% off of the best flexible rate for weekend stays (Friday, Saturday & Sunday).
This offer is not available online, but you must call the contact center in China book it. Your IHG Rewards Club account address must be in China (Macau, Taiwan or Hong Kong won’t qualify).

Note that you cannot book this offer more than 2 months or less in advance and your reservation must be done at least 24 hours before your intended arrival. If canceled at least 48 hours before scheduled arrival, there is no fee involved.
This offer comes with complimentary breakfast for up to 3 people and late check out until 4PM. Each elite member (Gold, Platinum & Ambassadors) can book up to 2 rooms. The rate is not always available during holiday periods.

IHG® Rewards Club (IHGRC) Gold, Platinum and Ambassador members who reside in Mainland China will be eligible to enjoy an exclusive 40% discount package (off Best Flexible Room Rate) at participating Mainland China IHG® hotels for weekend stays (Fri, Sat & Sun night). An eligible IHG® Rewards Club elite member is defined as a member with Gold, Platinum or Ambassador member status whose member address is located in China. . This exclusive offer is valid for the specified China members only, non-China residents do not apply.
Those eligible for the “Elite Members Exclusive” promotion will enjoy the option to book a weekend stay with 40% discount off Best Flexible Rate for maximum of 2 rooms per booking.
Rate includes free breakfast for 3 people (per room), late check-out until 4:00pm (standard Beijing time) and a free rollaway bed. Late check-out and rollaway bed must be requested at time of booking and is subjected to availability at the hotel. Rooms are limited, subject to prior sale and availability of allocated resources and may be unavailable during high demand periods. Members wishing to take advantage of this offer must enquire and book “Elite Members Exclusive” rate only via China Central Reservation Office designated Elite hotline on 400-880-1381 or +86 21 2033 4888 during operation hours (7am – 1am Mon – Sun).
The offer is valid for booking and stays between now until December 30th 2014. This rate is subject to availability at participating hotels and is not available during Greater China public holiday periods. Elite members will only be able to make reservations for stays up to 2 months ahead for this rate. Booking must be made 24 hours in advance and credit card guarantee is required. Cancelling or changing your reservation before 48 hours (local hotel time) prior to arrival date will result in no charge. Cancelling or changing your reservation after 48 hours (local hotel time) prior to arrival date, or failing to show, will result in a charge of 1 night per room to your credit card. Taxes may apply. Failing to call or show before check-out time after the first night of a reservation will result in cancellation of the remainder of your reservation. Rates and availability are subject to any potential future changes by IHG.
The eligible member must be one of the guests staying for the booking to be valid. Member must present their IHG® Rewards Club membership card or a valid booking confirmation upon arrival. Failure to identify yourself as an eligible member for this discount package before check-out will result in guest being charged the regular price (without discount) based on Best Flexible Rate at the Hotel. The promotional rate is an IHG® Rewards Club qualified rate and member policies apply. Complimentary Platinum member upgrade is subjected to room availability and for one room only. Upgrade is confirmed to next available room type. The ‘Elite Member Exclusive’ weekend night cannot be exchanged or resold for cash and is not transferrable in the system to other Members and guests. We will reserve the right to remove a member’s promotion related reservations or privileges if fraudulent use of this offer is detected.
