US Airways (surprise!) has same 20% conversion bonus from Marriott Rewards points to miles or Travel Package miles deposits to Dividend Miles as its parent (read more about the AA offer here).

US Airways Dividend Miles Marriott Rewards Conversion Bonus October 2014

The bonus is applicable both to straight points to miles conversions (makes no sense at all) and Travel Packages (great way to use Marriott points).

You can access Marriott’s web page for points to miles conversions here, Marriott Rewards Travel Packages here, and US Airways web page for this offer here.

Points To Miles Conversions:

You can convert Marriott Rewards points to US Airways Dividend Miles per the table above.

Marriott Rewards Travel Packages:

This is absolutely my preferred way of converting points to miles. You can use 270,000 Marriott Rewards points for a week at category 1 to 5 Marriott hotels and have 120,000 US Airways miles deposited to your account (144,000 with the 20% bonus).

You can later up the hotel award category by paying the difference in Marriott Rewards points and extend the 12 month validity of the hotel award by at least for one additional year.

Why Travel Package Conversion?

If you have plenty of Marriott Rewards points, the Travel Package conversion is better even if you don’t plan using the hotel award part at all.

280,000 Marriott Rewards points would convert to 120,000 US Airways miles during this offer (100,000 miles + 20% bonus). If you redeem 270,000 points for a Marriott Rewards Category 1-5 Travel Package with 120,000 miles, you end up with 144,00 Dividend Miles miles with the bonus.

Not only you are using less points (10,000) but you end up with more miles (144,000 instead of 120,000) AND free week at category 1-5 category hotel.

Conclusion

I have redeemed all my Marriott Rewards points using the Travel Packages that is the best way to use Marriott Rewards points and will issue at least one package during this offer period as well.

Remember that you can always top up your Marriott Rewards account by buying 50,000 points (maximum per calendar year) for $625 (1.25 cents each). You can access Marriott’s web page for buying points here.
