Marriott Rewards used to have Taste of Gold or Platinum public fast track offers in the past where Marriott gave you the status up front and required 6/9 stays within the month you signed up + the following three to keep it.
Marriott Rewards has separate Road to Gold or Platinum fast track offers with the same requirement, but where the upgraded status is given only after the number of stays have been completed.
Now, a LoyaltyLobby reader forwarded me an email (you can always forward me offers that you receive from programs) giving him the Taste of Gold for 3 months and the status until 2016 for completing the 6 stays within 3 months.
The reader had already had 40 nights this year and Marriott had emailed him about successfully completing the challenge the following day.
Maybe this Taste of Gold or Platinum is not dead after all, as they are now sending targeted offers? Usually, the Marriott Rewards customer service can sign you up for targeted offers, although that may require few phone calls.
